Sgt. Ayrin Hamner-Ripperger, the administration and supply non-commissioned officer for the 831st Engineer Company, Iowa Army National Guard (IANG), smiles for a photo at her desk at Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center on May 13, 2019. In September 2018, Hamner-Ripperger decided to run a half marathon in every state. When she’s not running, she’s doing her part to keep things running smoothly in her unit, whether that be filling out important paperwork or obtaining supplies needed for a drill weekend. Hamner-Ripperger’s coworkers are some of her biggest fans as she completes her “Chasing 50 States” journey. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Tawny Schmit)
