The Illinois National Guard has had a strategically important State Partnership Program with the Polish military for more than 25 years. As part of the program The Adjutant General and other senior leaders visit Poland at least once a year. In 2019 that official senior leader visit took place in May. During the Illinois National Guard Senior Leader visit to the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command the senior leaders met with, on left from front to back, Maj. Gen. Tadeusz Mikutel, the Deputy Commander of Operational Command; Maj. Gen. Tomasz Piotrowski, the Commander of Operational Command; Col. Krzysztof Nolbert, the Chief of Staff of Operational Command. From the front on the right is Col. Daniel McSeveney, the Commander of the 183rd COS; Illinois National Guard Adjutant General Brig. Gen. Richard Neely and Col. Clayton Kuetemeyer, the Illinois National Guard Chief of the Joint Staff. — in Warsaw, Poland.
