First Lt. Kyle Morgan, of Redondo Beach, Calif., receives a Bronze Star medal from Col. Michael Kinnison, officer-in-charge of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team demobilization, for exceptionally meritorious service in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from July 1, 2011, to March 5, 2012. Morgan graduated and received his commission through Oklahoma State University in May 2010 and he has served with the Oklahoma Army National Guard since that time. He is the platoon leader for 3rd Platoon, Company D, 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry. He said, "It was a great experience for a first deployment. I had great soldiers and great non-commissioned officers, and a great company commander who mentored me."
