Sgt. 1st Class James E. Fulton, Biloxi, Miss., of the Camp Shelby-based 154th Regional Training Institute fires his M4 rifle during the individual weapons qualification portion of the Mississippi Army National Guard’s 2012 Best Warrior Competition, held March 21-23 at Camp McCain, Miss. One of nine in the competition, each soldier challenged a wide range of events designed to evaluate their Army aptitude. Events also included a written test, Army Physical Fitness Test, M4 rifle and M9 pistol qualification, six-mile road march (wearing a 40 pound pack), Engagement Skills Trainer, land navigation, combative competition, obstacle course and Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Interview Board.
