Lt. Col. Matthew T. Mowery, the commanding officer of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267, returns from the unit’s final flight of the AH-1W Super Cobra at Camp Pendleton Calif., March 23.
Mowery, 41, from Troup, Texas, flew the aircraft around the base and landed it at HMLA-169. The unit has been flying the ‘Whiskey’ for 25 years and has used it on multiple deployments and Marine expeditionary units.
