ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 24, 2019) — Operations Specialist 2nd Class Melvin M. Francis, a Sailor assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78), and Damage Controlman Fireman James D. Moore, also assigned to the ship, work as an assessment team during a simulation of a main-space fire as part of a general quarters training scenario aboard the ship in the Atlantic Ocean, July 24, 2019. Porter, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its seventh patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
