Donovan Stringer, an honorary 2nd Lt. and Pilot for a Day, operates switches inside a fire truck to trigger the release of water on July 26, 2019, on the flightline at Youngstown Air Reserve Station. Stringer got to operate both the roof and bumper torrents on the crash truck during the ride on the flightline. The 910th AW began the Pilot for a Day program in 2000 as a community partnership with Akron Children’s Hospital and has since welcomed 66 children with chronic or life-threatening illness as honorees.
