Sgt. Evan Davis from Madison, Ind., is competing in the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., April 30-May 5. Davis, 32, will compete in shooting. The 1998 Madison Consolidated High School graduate was injured in March 2011 when he was involved in an inboard explosion on a howitzer when he was only a few feet away. Two months after the explosion, he was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer. More than 200 wounded, ill or injured service members from the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Special Operations Command are scheduled to compete in the Paralympic-style competition.
