A young Santa Juliana resident sings and dances around his friends in the water sprayed by U.S. Marines during an Exercise Balikatan 2012 community relations event here, April 24. The Marines released 1,800 gallons of water into a field for residents, Philippine Marines and U.S. Marines. Hundreds of people came out to play in the drops of joy that were welcomed in the sweltering heat. “To beat the heat Marines got to have a true water blast,” said U.S. Navy Lt. Gary W. Foshee, command chaplain, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. BK12 is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. military exercise focusing on field training, humanitarian assistance and a command post exercise.
