U.S. Marines and sailors pose with their new friends, the children and teachers of Patal Bato Literacy and Day Care Center, here, April 25. As part of a community relations project during Exercise Balikatan 2012, the service members gathered donations amongst themselves to repair, renew and stock the day care that services more than 60 five and six year-old students. BK12 is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. military exercise focusing on field training, humanitarian assistance and a command post exercise.
