SAN ANTONIO – (Sept. 7, 2019) Machinist’s Mate (Auxiliary) 2nd Class Shomari Cooper of Killeen, Texas, joined by Ship Serviceman 2nd Class Mark Hambrick of Phoenix, presents a Navy stress ball to a young attendee of Mission Pachanga during the annual World Heritage Festival held at Mission Park Pavilion. Mission Pachanga celebrated the city’s unique heritage and culture, past and present. Recruiters assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio attended the event to spread Navy Awareness and inform the community on career opportunities in America’s Navy. Cooper, a 2011 graduate of Belton High School joined America’s Navy in 2012 becoming recruiter in 2018. Hambrick, a 2011 graduate Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Ariz., joined America’s Navy in 2013 becoming a recruiting in 2018. NRD San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
