SAN ANTONIO – (Sept. 7, 2019) Corporal Francisco Cumpian (left) of San Antonio, an armory custodian assigned to the Marines’ 4th Reconnaissance Battalion, provides information about the M13 Sniper Rifle at Mission Pachanga during the annual World Heritage Festival held at Mission Park Pavilion. Mission Pachanga celebrated the city’s unique heritage and culture, past and present, The reconnaissance battalion, and subordinate elements, conducts reconnaissance and surveillance, certain offensive operations, and battlespace shaping in order to collect information of military significance, destroy, deceive, or disrupt enemy forces or actions, and support specialized mission requirements of the Ground Combat Element (GCE) or Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) commander.
