190928-A-DM672-1052 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 28, 2019) Mineman Seaman Jesse Johnson, assigned to the mine countermeasures ship USS Devastator (MCM 6), casts a grappling hook into the Arabian Gulf to retrieve a dummy mine as part of a training exercise for Operation Neptune Scepter. Operation Neptune Scepter is a bilateral mine countermeasure exercise between the U.S. Navy and Royal Navy designed to increase tactical proficiency between mine-hunting units with focus on port re-entries, shipping lane safety, gunnery exercise and force protection.
