Sanders, an instructor assigned to Officer Training Command, Newport (OTCN) in Rhode Island, explains the different types of fires that can occur on a ship to Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 03-20 on Oct. 24, 2019. Firefighting is one of five warfighting competencies that are taught to every officer at OCS. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
