191031-N-PG340-1005 ENNIBUR, Marshall Islands (Oct. 31, 2019) Equipment Operator Constructionman Manuel MendezCorreaon and Builder Constructionman Joseph Gallaway, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Marshall Islands, use a Philadelphia rod and the dumpy level survey to ensure the ground is properly leveled throughout the Ennibur Evacuation Center project site. The evacuation center will serve as the island’s disaster preparedness building for the local community, as well as a storage facility for emergency materials. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
