Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, commanding general of the U.S. Army Europe, delivers opening remarks, here June 14 before the beginning of the Wiesbaden Naming Ceremonies. The USAREUR is celebrating the 237th U.S. Army birthday by dedicating the installation, housing area and Mission Command Center slated to host the command in the coming year. The command selected significant figures from the U.S. Army's 237-year history with strong U.S.-European ties to dedicate these sites to. The Wiesbaden Naming Ceremonies are also the capstone event of the "USAREUR Strong Week," a seven-day highlight of the training, deployments and historical commemorations that the Army in Europe does throughout the year in support of our nation's strategic and operational goals.
