U.S. Navy sailors AG3 Fuentes and AGAN Cook attached to Navy Oceanography Mine Warfare Center (NOMWC) prepare launch the Remus 100 unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) system during the U.S. Northern Command exercise Arctic Edge 2020 in Gastineau Channel, Juneau, Alaska. Expeditionary Mine Countermeasures is able to conduct the full find, analyze, and disseminate sequence in addition to the detect-to-engage sequence. Arctic Edge 2020 (AE20) exercise was first conducted in 2018 and is planned to occur every two years. AE20 provides the opportunity to hone current and test future applications of combat operations and weapons capabilities in artic and subarctic environments. AE20 will have approximately 1,000 participants, including U.S. active duty, Reserve and National Guard component from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines, as well as approximately 55 members of the Canadian Military Service.
