Airmen from the California Air National Guard’s 146th Airlift Wing establish a federal medical station (FMS), April 4, 2020, at the Redding Civic Auditorium in Redding, California. An FMS provides local hospitals with overflow support when catastrophic events overwhelm existing capacity. California Gov. Newsom activated the Cal Guard to assist state and civilian agencies with humanitarian missions due to the current threat of the coronavirus.
