Command Sgt. Major Franklin Ashe, Third Army/U.S. Army Central command sergeant major, presents the Third Army Coin to David Barrett, a disabled Vietnam Veteran, who is currently be treated at the Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center's nursing home care unit. Third Army adopted the Atlanta VA Nursing home, Oct. 17, and will include quarterly visits by volunteer Soldiers from the command. The Soldiers will assist nursing home attendants facilitating activities with the Veterans such as bed-side reading, games and gardening.
