Sgt. Trenton Smitley (left) and Pvt. Matthew Harvey, Soldiers assigned to the Ohio National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 134th Field Artillery Regiment, construct a watering system for an urban farm project May 27, 2020, in Columbus, Ohio. Smitley and Harvey, along with others in their unit, have been supporting Mid-Ohio Foodbank’s operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project supports the food bank’s access to fresh produce and will also be a site to provide community education and engagement on urban farming and agriculture.
