“I was born in Michoacan, Mexico and migrated to Granbury, Texas at the age of nine. Being the oldest in a single parent home meant I helped my family as much as I could. I have always wanted to be in the military, and I am a first generation Marine. The process was not simple, being an immigrant prevented me from enlisting right after high school. After seven years of dealing with the immigration process and three months spent in my country of origin (Mexico), I was finally granted permission to re-enter the United States and was given the opportunity to attend boot camp to earn my Eagle, Globe, and Anchor and title of Marine, as well as my United States citizenship.”
“The billet that I currently hold is operations chief within the Motor Transport Section, my mission in Okinawa is to coordinate and support any operation within the unit across the island. This billet has helped me understand the importance of logistics. This role has also given me the opportunity to deploy to South Korea and transport all the gear that was needed to support all the missions there. Always remember -- Motor Transport carries the regiment!”
