“I was born in Queens, New York and raised in Brooklyn. You are forced to not only to learn to navigate through common local battles, but through the education system. The environment can be trying, especially for a young adult. My mother always told me ‘Grab the text book before you go outside and ensure you read those chapters and answer those questions’. That guidance set me on a path to success at a young age."
“I have been in the Marine Corps for six years and it has opened many doors for me to be able to teach, guide, and instruct. Education and learning have always been primary focuses of my social and intellectual pursuits. I am the first in my immediate family to finish my bachelor's and master's degrees in homeland security. Degrees should never be exclusive to officers, we need educated Marines in all ranks of the institution. Growing up in New York City and traveling extensively around the world has also greatly expanded my worldview. The exploration and exchange of knowledge continues to be an ongoing source of personal accomplishment.”
