U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Chase Bellas, a combat engineer with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group (3rd MLG), places an improvised explosive device at Demo Range 2, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, July 8, 2020. Improvised explosive devices allow Marines to practice their unconventional demolition knowledge. Bellas, a native of Seattle, Washington, graduated from Issaquah High School in 2018 and enlisted out of Recruiting Station Bellevue in 2018. 3rd MLG provides III Marine Expeditionary Force comprehensive logistics and combat service support for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
