Oregon Army National Guard Spc. Derek Mollet, 224th Engineer Company uses a road grader to create and improve training combat roads and trails at Camp Umatilla near Hermiston, Ore., August 6th, 2020. Spc. Mollet worked to create a smooth transition between off-road trails and paved roads to limit potential training hazards. The company created several miles of off-road trails for convoys and heavy vehicles to maneuver through the old storage bunkers on the 20 square mile training base. The conditions of these combat roads are similar to what would be constructed in a deployed environment.
