Pack Up and Move Out - The 20th Support Command (CBRNE) Nuclear Disablement Team-2, a small unit consisting of nuclear experts and technical escort, communications and maintenance teams, received notification of a "nuclear detonation" in Indiana. Within hours, the specialized team deployed. After a convoy from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., the team (shown here in the Air Mobility Command terminal at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J.), boarded the Air Force C-17 loaded with their vehicles and equipment, then arrived in Indianapolis, Ind., in the wee hours of the morning. “Prominent Hunt 12,” a National Technical Nuclear Forensics exercise, or NTNF, was the reason NDT-2, and teams from the Departments of Defense, Justice, Energy, and Homeland Security converged in Indiana July 26-31.
