Initially during the July 26-31 Prominent Hunt 12 exercise in Indiana, NTNF Ground Collections Task Force members living in field conditions at their forward operating base ate Meals Ready-to-Eat. After several days, one or two daily hot meals, dished out of a nearby building, supplemented the MREs. Following a dinner of pasta and salad, soldiers crafted after-action inputs to exercise organizers to aid future planned events. “I was very pleased with the outcomes of Prominent Hunt 12,” said Michael Holden, DHS senior technical adviser and a primary organizer of the exercise. “There were some great lessons learned that will enable improved processes and expectations regarding future engagements between the Geographic Combatant Commander, DoD Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Enterprise and the NTNF Ground Collections Task Force.”
