INDIAN OCEAN (Jan. 9, 2021) – U.S. Navy Aviation Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Wesley Hecht directs the aircraft elevator operator to raise an MH-60R Sea Hawk, assigned to the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 49, aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit are conducting operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
