During a cordon and search patrol in the early morning hours of, Nov. 8, near the Bayji Train Station, a Soldier from Bushmaster Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), looks over a document using his translator to identify its content. The Soldiers were conducting a cordon and search mission within the area, targeting individuals responsible for the manufacturing of improvised explosive devices which have been used to disrupt coalition force movement within the area. The Bastogne Soldiers were conducting operations in the northern portion of the Salah ad Din province which correlated with 1st Armored Division operations during Operation Iron Hammer.
