Using a land mine detector, Pfc. Jacob Edwards, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), searches for anything suspicious that may be buried underneath the ground near the Bayji Oil Refinery, Nov. 10. Edwards, from Milwaukee, Wisc., listened through a set earphones for certain signals the detector would emit, which could possibly indicate a weapon cache site. The Bastogne Soldiers were conducting operations in the northern portion of the Salah ad Din province which correlated with 1st Armored Division operations during Operation Iron Hammer.
