Chief Warrant Officer 2 Robert Hintz (center), of C Company, 1st Battalion, 131st Aviation Regiment, gives a safety brief to other crew members and FBI agents, Sept. 3, at the Mecklenburg Police Academy in Charlotte, N.C., before conducting an emergency response training flight to prepare for the Democratic National Convention. The North Carolina National Guard Black Hawk helicopters were available to haul the agents and nearly 5,000 pounds of equipment into areas that emergency vehicles were unable to reach. The team was a back-up contingency, only available as a last resort.
