Federal agents maneuver around their equipment to get comfortable on a North Carolina National Guard Black Hawk helicopter, Sept. 3, at the Mecklenburg Police Academy in Charlotte, N.C., before practicing an emergency response training flight. The helicopters, flown by pilots and crew chiefs, of C Company, 1st Battalion, 131st Aviation Regiment, were available to haul the agents and nearly 5,000 pounds of equipment into areas that emergency vehicles were unable to reach during the Democratic National Convention. The team was back-up a contingency, only available as a last resort.
