Steaming Hatch chilies are removed from the roaster during the Chilies for Willie fundraiser in the parking lot of 88 Grill in Las Cruces, N.M., Sept. 8. The event raised money for Willie’s Heroes, an organization that supports Soldiers, their families and veterans. The chilies were roasted, rinsed, bagged and sold by volunteers from the local area. Willie’s Heroes was originally started to provide Soldiers with necessities such as socks, underwear and t-shirts after being wounded on the battlefield. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Candice Harrison, 24th Press Camp Headquarters, Fort Bliss, Texas)
