Jeff Fisk, a family-member volunteer, and his son Jeffery Fisk fill a bag with roasted chilies during the Chilies for Willie fund raiser held in the parking lot of 88 Grill in Las Cruces, N.M., Sept. 8. Fisk is the brother of Sgt. Major William Apodaca-Fisk, the name-sake behind Willie’s Heroes. Willie’s Heroes began while the Sergeant Major was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011. The organization provides support for Soldiers, their families and veterans through Honor Flight, Guide On and the Wounded Warrior Project. Many families and other volunteers participated in roasting, rinsing, bagging and selling of chilies on the rainy Saturday. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
