Career highlights: Chief Warrant Officer Davenport has served three tours in Kodiak. She also served at Sector Southeastern New England, Air Station Cape Cod and Sector Columbia River. While stationed in Cape Cod, Davenport received the Deborah Sampson Award as a Massachusetts female veteran that has played an exceptional role in their community and in their military career. Deborah Sampson was a pioneer for women in the military during the Revolutionary War and receiving this award is one of the greatest honors of Davenport’s career.
Inspiration: While stationed at Cape Cod, Davenport had the privilege of working with an amazing command who cultivated a climate where she always felt encouraged to grow, not just as a service member, but as a mom, and wife. There was never a time where she felt she had to choose between advancing her career and being a good mom; they encouraged both. She will forever be grateful for that time because it taught her what a great workplace atmosphere could be, shaped the leader she set out to be, and created the work climate that she strives to cultivate daily as she moves up in this organization.
Chief Warrant Officer Davenport’s Words of Wisdom: “Personally invest in your people so that they too can reach for the stars knowing that they are supported in their endeavors,” said Davenport.
Career Goal: To continue enjoying both her wonderful family and career. Davenport’s husband, Nick, is a chief mechanic on the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and they are parents to Dylan (10) and Blake (7).
