210922-A-RK348-0389 ARABIAN GULF (Sept. 22, 2021) – UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary Landing ship RFA Lyme Bay (L3007), Royal Navy mine hunter HMS Bangor (M109), mine counter measures vessels HMS Chiddingfold (M37) and HMS Middleton (M34) and U.S. Navy mine countermeasures ship USS Gladiator (MCM 11) transit in formation during a mine countermeasures exercise in the Arabian Gulf, Sept. 22. The 5th Fleet area of operations encompasses about 2.5 million square miles of water area and includes the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Red Sea and parts of the Indian Ocean.
