Staff Sgt. Joseph Halus, an armored crewman assigned to 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, shoots an M17, the Army’s new service pistol replacing the M9, on Fort Stewart, Georgia, Sept. 29, 2021. The M17 is equipped with ambidextrous controls allowing right or left hand dominant Soldiers to use the weapon system.
