Senior Airman Jose Macias, 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, was highlighted as an outstanding performer as Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne Bass visited Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, Nov. 4, 2021. Macias employed his skillsets to help prepare 12 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft in 10-days for an early deployment notification that enabled personnel to transport 854 personnel and 956 pallet position equivalents during the execution of Operation OCTAVE QUARTZ. As a crew chief, Macias inspects, services and maintains C-130Js to ensure the aircrafts are mission ready for aircrew members can complete their mission.
