The Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) variation of the Stryker vehicle patrols the streets of Mosul, Iraq to maintain security. The ATGM Stryker is built to provide direct fire support to the infantry during urban combat operations through thermal optic wire (TOW) guided missiles. This is one of seven variations of Strykers currently being used in northern Iraq. The Stryker is the Army?s newest tactical fighting vehicle being used for the first time in combat operations by the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) during Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
