220611-N-OX321-1351 NAVAL AIR STATION SIGONELLA, Italy (June 11, 2022) – Air Traffic Controller 2nd Class Emmanuel Adeniji takes part in shuttle-sprints qualification during a two-day event dedicated to earning the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge hosted by the German contingent assigned to NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Force on Naval Air Station Sigonella, June 11, 2022. To qualify for the badge, participants had to compete in 100-meter swim in uniform, shuttle-sprints, 1,000-meter run, pull-up hang, marksmanship range and ruck march. NAS Sigonella’s strategic location enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to deploy and respond as required, ensuring security and stability in Europe, Africa, and Central Command.
