    KINGS BAY, Ga. (Sept. 2, 2022) Adm. Charles "Chas" Richard, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, presents Rear Adm. John Spencer, outgoing commander of Submarine Group Ten, with the Legion of Merit Award during a change of command ceremony held aboard the Ohio-class ballistic-missile submarine USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. Spencer retires after 31 years of service in the U.S. Navy and is relieved by Rear Adm. Thomas R. “TR” Buchanan. The base is home to all east coast Ohio-class submarines.
