221214-N-VI040-1026 ATSUGI, Japan (Dec. 14, 2022) Chiefs from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Chiefs Mess present Kadomatsu to Command Master Chief Weba Roberts, command master chief, Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, and the NAF Atsugi Chiefs Mess during a cultural exchange ceremony at NAF Atsugi headquarters. The NAF Atsugi Chiefs Mess and JMSDF Chiefs Mess exchanged a wreath and Kadomatsu in celebration of U.S. and Japanese holiday season traditions. The Kadomatsu is decoration made up of cut pine and bamboo that adorns the entrance of Japanese buildings during the New Year's season.
