21214-N-VI040-1037 ATSUGI, Japan (Dec. 14, 2022) Command Master Chief Weba Roberts (left), command master chief, Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, presents a holiday wreath to Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Command Master Chief Kazuaki Shimizu, command master chief, Air Station Atsugi, during a cultural exchange ceremony at NAF Atsugi headquarters Dec. 14, 2022. The NAF Atsugi Chiefs Mess and JMSDF Chiefs Mess exchanged a wreath and Kadomatsu in celebration of U.S. and Japanese holiday season traditions. The Kadomatsu is decoration made up of cut pine and bamboo that adorns the entrance of Japanese buildings during the New Year's season.
