SAN DIEGO (Nov. 10, 2022) – U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Jared Reddinger, right, commander, 2nd Division, 4th Marines (2/4) Battalion Landing Team (BLT), and 2/4 BLT Sgt. Maj. Larry Crumpton cut a cake as part of a celebration commemorating the 247th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps aboard amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), Nov. 10, 2022. The birthday celebration was an opportunity to reflect on the years of dedicated service and sacrifice of the Marines. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks Anchorage and USS John P.
