U.S. Marines from Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, receive a gift from soldiers with the 1st Regimental Landing Team, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, after a bilateral live-fire training event during Iron Fist 23 at Hijudai, Japan, Feb. 24, 2023. The gift commemorated the comradery and knowledge that both parties received from the bi-lateral training during Iron Fist. Iron Fist is an annual bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the JGSDF, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
