U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. The bi-lateral live-fire training was conducted to maintain proficiency in bi-lateral tactics in conjunction with maneuver elements during Iron Fist 23. Iron Fist is an annual bi-lateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
