U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and U.S. Navy Sailors with the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD-48), disembark during a beach landing exercise off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Mar. 4, 2023. The Marines and Sailor aboard the USS Ashland worked hand in hand to conduct LCU operations. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
