Yuma-based Marines with Marine Attack Squadron 211 Wake Island Avengers and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 as well as two AV-8B Harriers returned home to excited friends and family at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma after a combat deployment in Afghanistan, Nov. 3. Children and adults alike rushed to the arriving Marines as they filed off the bus with celebratory red roses in hand. A strong sense of relief and joy were felt by all in attendance as smiles, laughs and hugs were shared. VMA-211 and MALS-13 were touched by tragedy when they lost two Marines, VMA-211 Commanding Officer LtCol. Christopher Raible and MALS-13 Electronics Technician Sgt. Bradley Atwell, in an insurgent attack at Camp Bastion Sept. 15.
