Yuma-based Marines with Marine Attack Squadron 211 Wake Island Avengers and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 returned home to cheering friends and family at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma after a combat deployment in Afghanistan, Nov. 3. There was also excitement in the air as two VMA-211 AV-8B Harriers taxied down the runway to rest on the MCAS Yuma flight line once again after their long journey back from Camp Bastion. VMA-211 and MALS-13 were touched by tragedy on Sept. 15 in Afghanistan when an insurgent attack took the lives of VMA-211's Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Christopher Raible and MALS-13 Electronics Technician Sgt. Bradley Atwell.
