Lance Cpl. Marcelo R. Cantos prepares a M777A2 155mm howitzer for the upcoming 10 days of live-fire training scheduled to take place at the North Fuji Maneuver Area here Nov. 8. Cantos is a field artillery cannoneer with Mike Battery, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. This exercise is part of regularly-scheduled, routine training that promotes regional stability and security by allowing units stationed on Okinawa to improve their ability to support III MEF's role in the defense of Japan under the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security.
