(June 15, 2023) Petty Officer 3rd Class Oluwaseun Olaniyi, a Navy Reserve utilitiesman living in Chicago and assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 18 based on Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, California, lays a bead of sealant along the flashing of a newly built home as part of a charitable contribution and training opportunity in partnership with the Southwest Indian Foundation. The home's construction served to educate Seabees in various practical construction techniques needed for mission readiness while fulfilling the needs of a community partner as part of the Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program.
